Dear Parent/ Carers,

We are delighted to share that our new sports hall is progressing well, and we are very excited for its completion later this year when pupils will benefit from enhanced PE facilities.

During the building work and renovation of our new sports hall, there will be temporary changes to the way pupils prepare for their PE lessons. Due to limited changing facilities during this period, pupils will be required to attend school wearing their school PE kit on the days they have a PE lesson.

This will be in place from Monday 1st June 2026 until Friday 19th June 2026

We kindly ask for your support in ensuring pupils arrive at school in the correct PE kit on their PE days during this time.

Required School PE kit:

  • White polo shirt
  • Plain black jogging bottoms (no leggings, cycling shorts or flared trousers)
  • Trainers don’t have to be specific colour
  • A black fleece (this replaces the purple fleece) with the school logo is compulsory for all pupils:
    • in Years 7-10
    • taking GCSE PE and BTEC Sport in Year 11

Pupils who do not attend school wearing the correct PE kit, or who do not attend in PE kit on their PE days, will be issued with a detention in line with the school behaviour policy - all of this information will be shared with pupils over the coming weeks.

We appreciate your continued support and cooperation during this exciting period of development for the school.

The new sports hall will significantly enhance our PE facilities, and we look forward to the positive impact this will have on our pupils.

If you have any queries regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact the school via enquiry@swanshurst.org

Yours sincerely,

Ms R Wright
Head of PE

Headteacher
