Pupils usually start school at the start of the school year in September. Sometimes your child will need to start or change school after this because: You move house, either within or into Birmingham, or you want your child to change schools for other reasons.
Details on how to make an in-year application can be found on the Birmingham City Council website:
Swanshurst School holds waiting lists for oversubscribed year groups. Waiting list applications are ranked according to the school’s oversubscription criteria (please refer to our Admissions Criteria). All students not offered a place at the school have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel. Completed forms should be returned to the school office or emailed to: enquiry@swanshurst.org.
Swanshurst School operates Birmingham City Council’s (BCC) Fair Access Protocols relating to the placement of unplaced young people. The following link provides further information relating to BCC’s Fair Access Protocol.
Birmingham City Council, as the local authority, manages the schools admissions process. For full details of the admissions criteria and the process for application please visit the Birmingham City Council website.
