A Night of Musicals at Swanshurst

On the evening of Wednesday 11th June 2025, Swanshurst School was alive with music, dance, and drama as over 100 talented students took to the stage for our annual Summer Concert - this year themed “A Night of Musicals.”

Presented by Holli G and Angie L from Year 10, the evening was a true celebration of the performing arts, showcasing the incredible creativity and dedication of our students from across all year groups.

A Showcase of Talent

From the powerful opening of Habanera by the School Orchestra to the uplifting finale of Beauty and the Beast, the concert featured a wide variety of performances inspired by beloved musicals. Highlights included:

• A stunning vocal solo of Defying Gravity by the Ukulele Group
• Energetic dance numbers like All That Jazz and Saki Saki
• Moving drama scenes from Annie, Oliver, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
• Beautiful instrumental solos from Zahra K (Clarinet), Isabel G A (Oboe), and more
• Crowd favourites like Mamma Mia, Rewrite the Stars, and Piano Man

Each performance brought something special to the stage, and the audience was treated to a night full of emotion and laughter.

Behind the Scenes

A huge thank you goes to our 14 Music Ambassadors, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and front of house to ensure the evening ran smoothly. Their professionalism and teamwork were outstanding.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our peripatetic music staff and the Performing Arts department, whose guidance and support helped prepare the students for this unforgettable evening.
