Swanshurst Presents... High School Musical 2026

Swanshurst School was transformed into East High as students from across Years 7 to 11 and the sixth form took to the stage for our production of High School Musical. Performances ran on Wednesday 28th and Wednesday 29th January, and both nights were packed with energy and a whole lot of Wildcats spirit.

Directed, choreographed and produced by our Performing Arts Department, the show brought together over 100 students who lit up the stage.

Wildcat Cheer

Marking 20 years since the first film was released, Swanshurst Wildcats opened with Wildcat Cheer and led the finale of We’re All in This Together. Some standout highlights included:

  • A show-stopping performance of "Start of Something New", capturing the magic of Troy and Gabriella's first duet.
  • Dynamic dance sequences in "Get'cha Head in the Game" and "Bop to the Top", showcasing months of hard work learning carefully choreographed routines.
  • A beautifully acted Sharpay-Ryan comedy duo, bringing witty one-liners and plenty of sparkle.
  • Outstanding ensemble work from a cast featuring every year group.

Behind the Curtain

Productions on this scale would not be possible without an enormous amount of dedication behind the scenes. A heartfelt thank you goes to the Performing Arts staff, who spent months directing, choreographing, and teaching vocals for every detail of the show; our student technical team, who managed the lighting, sound, set changes, and backstage cues with real professionalism; and the costume, props, and stage?design students, whose creativity and hard work helped bring East High to life on the Swanshurst stage.
